Book Review

Finished reading The beach house by Jane green on 4th January 2009. It was a good book to read while on holiday. Very easy to read. Finished it in one week. Although most of those days it was really hot and I was tired and kept falling asleep. I did enjoy the book. It was about an elderly lady living on her own in an old house on an Island. She has financial difficulties so she decides to invite guests to stay for the summer holidays. Her guests arrive and the magic of the house and Island create a nurturing environment where the guests are able to relax and reconnect with their inner desires.

  1. I'm a huge fan of Jane Green and her stories for thirty-somethings. I have only read a preview of this book and wondered how a story about an older woman would work for me.

This is on my TBR pile for 2009 - along with 1000 others!

I see you mention Carlos Ruiz Zafon as one of your favourites. I read Shadow of the Wind over the summer and found it captivating - mystery, thriller, romance and comedy rolled into one. Brilliant
